In Memory of Mr. Gary Hartman
HOAC Logo

Anyone that has ever had contact with the Heart of America Chapter had contact with Gary. He was a true ambassador for us and would do anything for anyone if asked. We that had the privilege to know Gary and his family are far richer for it, and those who didn't get to know him have truly missed someone amazing. If Gary was around you could bet that fun was to be had!

As the years went on he branched out into other areas of automotive interest: among them were the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and the Porsche Club of America. Gary participated in SOLO 2 (autocross) events with the Kansas City Region of SCCA, and just like the Olds Club his enthusiasm for SOLO 2 was something he shared with others. Here's a picture of Gary with his beloved 1953 Olds at a SCCA event - everyone was showing up in costume and Gary wouldn't have had it any other way:

Gary has been set free from his battle with Parkinson's Disease. I got the word on August 29th while I was deployed to Qatar, and when I passed the news along to my SCCA friends the outpouring of sympathy was immediate and showed just what a great friend he was to so many.

Services for Gary Hartman will be Saturday, September 17th at:
Summit Methodist Church
114 SE Douglas St.
Lee's Summit, MO
Visitation at 10am
Service at 11am
In lieu of flowers Linda is asking for donation to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the Lee's Summit Symphony.

Rest easy Gary, we'll take over the watch now.
